Aromatherapy & Reflexology

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy using essential oils from plants to support physical and emotional well-being. Oils are typically inhaled or applied topically (diluted) to:
  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and pain
  • Improve sleep, mood, and respiratory function
  • Stimulate the limbic system via scent to influence emotions and physiological responses
Common oils include lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree. While widely used, clinical evidence is mixed, and safety precautions (e.g., dilution, allergy screening) are essential.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic technique applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears believed to correspond with organs and systems throughout the body. It aims to:
  • Promote relaxation, pain relief, and nervous system balance
  • Support circulation, immune function, and homeostasis
  • Complement conventional care by easing symptoms like PMS, labor pain, and stress
Though evidence is limited, many find it beneficial as a non-invasive, calming adjunct to wellness routines.
